    As a legal secretary and then a writer, I never enjoyed my work until I became a doll artist.  Since my mother is an artist and the tools of art have always been present in my home, one day I just started sculpting.  I suppose I was called to be an artist, the way other people are called into missionary work or into teaching.  Once I learned the basics of how to use the tools, what already existed in the clay simply emerged.  I truly don’t know how an artist is inspired, but I feel God is the source of all art and He uses an artist’s hands to sculpt what He desires.  Many times I am surprised by what comes out of the clay placed before me.
    When I finish a sculpture, I feel much the same way people feel after deep meditation or prayer, as if I have been in communion with something much greater and complete than I am.  I hope my dolls can in some, small way, give my customers the happiness, pleasure and harmony they always give me as I sculpt them.
